Alphametrics

State of the World Economy

20 September 2006

Alphametrics is working with the Cambridge Endowment for Research in Finance (CERF) to develop a global modelling system that provides a consistent historical perspective for the world economy divided into more than 80 countries and country groups. The model covering trade, energy, income and balance of payments flows provides insights into the origins of current financial imbalances and income inequality and may be used to generate alternative scenarios up to 2015.

Results of this work have been presented by Francis Cripps and Alex Izurieta at numerous events including the fall 2005 IMF/World Bank seminar programme and meetings, workshops and training courses in Brazil, Europe and China. The latest product is a training CD prepared for the International Poverty Centre, Brasilia.
